Business Development Specialist, Infrastructure & Energy

For the New York Office of an International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the senior BD teams to help deliver their business objectives; develop an in-depth understanding of the groups and each of their priority areas;
  • Assist, and lead where possible, on RFP responses; ensure accurate and timely recording of all pitches, proposal and business opportunities in the Firm’s CRM system (InterAction), including pitch win/loss ratio and reasons for success/failure;
  • Conduct client, market, sector and decision-maker research and analysis;
  • Produce and maintain marketing materials, including lawyers’ biographies, deal lists, brochures and capability statements in support of client targeting efforts;
  • Lead the submissions process for legal directories, respective league tables and award bodies, including coaching lawyers for directory interviews, providing feedback and reporting on rankings and awards;
  • Work with the Firm’s Creative Services and Marketing Technology teams to coordinate the production, distribution and evaluation of client alerts, newsletters and other publications, including creation, development maintenance of relevant mailing lists.

Qualifications include:

  • 3+ years of relevant and in-depth business development experience in a professional services firm; bachelor’s degree required; relevant marketing (CIM) or a post-graduate qualification preferred;
  • Good systems and database skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM applications;
  • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders and working autonomously;
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral – and ability to work at all levels; strong influencing and negotiating skills;
  • Flexible, committed and enthusiastic; creative and strategic mindset.
  • Exposure to client relationship management a plus.
Salary: $94k-$141k
