Business Development Specialist, Corporate
For the New York Office of an International Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Research and draft materials (pitches, brochures, compiling relevant thought leadership) for client meetings and in response to RFPs; liaise directly with lawyers, BD colleagues and the design/production team throughout the process;
- Execute drafts of Chambers, Legal 500 US and IFLR1000 submissions, as well as one-off awards for practices and individuals; liaise directly with partners and Sr. Manager to finalize submissions;
- Lead on organizing client seminars/conferences/webinars, preparing invite lists, mailing invitations, coordinating conference materials, executing on the event and ensuring proactive follow-up, liaising with Events and CLE teams, as necessary;
- Prepare materials for internal practice group meetings, such as business development activity reports, event summaries and agendas, and liaise with the finance and practice development teams on materials, as necessary;
- Undertake internal and external research and analysis on clients, targets, markets, competitors, rankings, etc;
- Coordinate mailings for client newsletters and briefings; maintain mailing lists and updating as necessary, using relevant systems in coordination with CRM resources.
Qualifications include:
- 3+ years of BD/marketing experience in a professional services environment, bachelor's degree required;
- Experience responding to RFPs
- Experience with corporate law – M&A, capital markets, financing;
- A client-service, can-do attitude;
- Strong organizational and analytical skills;
- Experience with some or all of the following systems is preferred: Foundation, Salesforce and Sharepoint; experience with databases such as Pitchbook, Mergermarket, Refinitiv, CapitalIQ, and Preqin a plus.
