Business Development Senior Specialist, Corporate
For the New York Office of an International Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- work with the Work closely with the Sr. Manager to develop and execute a focused marketing and business development strategy that strengthens relationships with existing clients, targets new work and builds the US and global reputation of the firm;
- Research and draft materials (pitches, brochures, compiling relevant thought leadership) for client meetings and in response to RFPs;
- Execute drafts of Chambers, Legal 500 US and IFLR1000 submissions, as well as one-off awards for practices and individuals;
- Support the development, implementation and follow-up activities surrounding client plans and client meetings;
- Organize client seminars/conferences/webinars, prepare invite lists, coordinate conference materials, execute on the event and ensure proactive follow-up, liaising with Events and CLE teams as necessary;
- Undertake internal and external research and analysis on clients, targets, markets, competitors, rankings, etc.
Qualifications include:
- 4+ years of BD experience in a professional services environment; bachelor's degree required;
- Ability to build trusted relationships with lawyers and BD colleagues in a collaborative, global environment;
- Experience with corporate law – M&A, capital markets, financing;
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong organizational and analytical skills;
- Experience with some or all of the following systems is preferred: Foundation, Salesforce and Sharepoint; experience with databases such as Pitchbook, Mergermarket, Refinitiv, CapitalIQ, and Preqin a plus.
