Senior Practice Group Manager, White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement

For the New York Office of an International Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Department Practice Director and Practice Group Leader(s) to draft and execute the practice group’s strategic plan, including setting practice group goals, monitoring plan performance and KPIs throughout the year, and taking proactiv
  • Oversee onboarding and integration of new attorneys and staff into the practice group; develop procedures to regularly monitor new matters, attorney utilization, and current/anticipated workload;
  • Work with practice group Talent & Inclusion Partner(s) to develop professional development plans for diverse associates and counsel; ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are essential parts of all practice group functions;
  • Ensure practice group attorneys are meeting and communicating regularly and effectively on issues relating to practice development, associate management, and financial performance issues;
  • Monitor group metrics and identify areas of focus; develop and tracks applicable KPIs. Oversees maintenance and organization of group resources, including meeting and training materials, memos, meeting notes, group rosters, mentor assignments, etc.;
  • Review monthly financial reports with the Practice Group Leader(s) and Finance Partners and identify trends/developments requiring attention and action; in conjunction with the Finance team, lead practice group financial and operational reporting.

Qualifications include:

  • y7+ years of increasingly responsible, directly relevant experience;
  • Extensive knowledge of and familiarity with legal and business environments;
  • Excellent, demonstrated judgment and strategic decision-making skills, including the ability to navigate complex situations with minimal oversight;
  • Ability to provide quality and efficient client service to both internal and external clients;
  • Knowledge of law firm financial accounting and budgeting principles and ability to develop, monitor and manage budgets, analyze financial data, and draw strategic conclusions;
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate information with tact and courtesy, as well as the ability to effectively influence practice group stakeholders, including attorneys and staff.
Salary: $167k-$224k
