Director of Attorney Recruiting
For the New York Office of an International Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Spearhead lateral partner recruiting efforts by maintaining relationships with legal search firms; act as the firm’s ambassador and liaison for partner candidates;
- Understand firm’s practice groups and business model to identify predictors of successful partner candidates; work with legal search firms to discuss market, firm strategies and hiring needs;
- Lead Recruiting Committee meetings, and make hiring recommendations to Hiring Partners, Recruiting Chairs, and other senior leaders;
- Oversee fall on-campus interviewing program and recruitment for summer associate and other legal positions at the firm; establish and maintain relationships with law school career departments and manage any scholarship programs;
- Oversee the summer associate program; participate in events, coordinate with finance team to track expenses, coordinate Summer Associate evaluations, and assist in work assignment process;
- Build relationships with and serve as a resource and trusted advisor for attorneys across the U.S.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7-10 years of law firm recruiting required with at least five years in a managerial role;
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills needed;
- Strong client service skills, and proven ability to interact with all levels of management, staff and external clients in a highly effective, respectful and professional manner;
- Ability to maintain competency and detailed knowledge practice-specific technologies, including applicant tracking software and evaluation software;
- Ability to implement creative solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of operations, systems and procedures;
- Must have the ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and manage multiple projects with specific deadlines;
