Senior Manager, Attorney Recruitment and Development

For the New York Office of Very Successful Mid-Sized Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the recruitment of 3Ls, Judicial Clerks, and lateral attorneys; design and execute best practices for recruiting legal talent;
  • Propose and implement strategies for law student outreach including building and maintaining relationships with law school career services and student groups; identify sponsorships and partnerships;
  • Work closely with the CTO, hiring partners and hiring committee to promote the firm, analyze recruitment efforts, and recommend changes to ensure all processes are executed timely and effectively;
  • Plan, manage and implement new attorney orientation and onboarding programs; oversee attorney mentor programs;
  • Oversee all non-partner attorney performance evaluation processes, utilizing viEval;
  • Work with partners on attorney developmental programs, utilizing relevant CLEs; work with assignment partners to provide strategic oversight of the work allocation process.

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of legal recruitment and professional development experience; 4+ years of management experience; bachelor's degree required;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work within and create a collaborative work environment, including ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of firm personnel;
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to take complete ownerships of designing and executing firm-wide programs and ability to focus on long and short-term initiatives;
  • A flexible problem-solver who is self-directed, client service oriented, and collaborative;
  • Desire and ability to stay abreast of trends in legal recruitment professional development, and the legal industry to ensure the organization is proactive in its functioning.
Salary: $175k-$195k
