Senior Events Manager

For the New York Office of a Global Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with leadership to create and oversee the firm’s client event strategy including managing a diverse client event portfolio – large scale client events, networking events, conferences, unique client entertainment opportunities and other person
  • Spearhead the creation, refinement and implementation of best practices, checklists, processes, timelines, and other project management tools in addition to tracking and reporting ROI;
  • Provide oversight and coaching to a tenured events team on event logistics to ensure coordination and flawless execution activities amongst venues, vendors, and teams;
  • Create and oversee event budgets, ensuring cost-effective practices while maintaining high standards;
  • Regularly conduct market/competitive research and related analysis to develop creative, innovative events;
  • Directly manage and mentor a team of client event planners; foster a collaborative environment and provide opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of experience of event planning, preferably in legal or professional services; 5+ years of management experience required;
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks with a track record of demonstrating good judgment and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong knowledge of event management and design best practices;
  • Experience negotiating pricing and contracts, including revisions as necessary;
  • Exceptional ability to communicate and interact effectively (verbally and in writing) with all levels of the internal organization (attorneys and staff), as well as external points of contact;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment; the ability to follow-up and follow through on the big and the little.
Salary: $190k-$210k
