Senior Events Manager
For the New York Office of a Global Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with leadership to create and oversee the firm’s client event strategy including managing a diverse client event portfolio – large scale client events, networking events, conferences, unique client entertainment opportunities and other person
- Spearhead the creation, refinement and implementation of best practices, checklists, processes, timelines, and other project management tools in addition to tracking and reporting ROI;
- Provide oversight and coaching to a tenured events team on event logistics to ensure coordination and flawless execution activities amongst venues, vendors, and teams;
- Create and oversee event budgets, ensuring cost-effective practices while maintaining high standards;
- Regularly conduct market/competitive research and related analysis to develop creative, innovative events;
- Directly manage and mentor a team of client event planners; foster a collaborative environment and provide opportunities for professional development.
Qualifications include:
- 10+ years of experience of event planning, preferably in legal or professional services; 5+ years of management experience required;
- Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks with a track record of demonstrating good judgment and problem-solving skills;
- Strong knowledge of event management and design best practices;
- Experience negotiating pricing and contracts, including revisions as necessary;
- Exceptional ability to communicate and interact effectively (verbally and in writing) with all levels of the internal organization (attorneys and staff), as well as external points of contact;
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment; the ability to follow-up and follow through on the big and the little.
