Director of Attorney Advancement

For the New York Office of a Financial Services Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set strategy with key stakeholders on the career advancement goals for associates at the Firm;
  • Provide individualized professional development coaching to associates to help them with goal setting, integration and career success;
  • Collaborate with professional development team to identify success metrics and benchmarks by levels, and provide reporting on the impact of the learning experiences on attorneys' advancement;
  • Review associates' performance evaluations, hours and partner exposure to provide meaningful input around work allocation and benchmarking;
  • Facilitate lateral associate integration programs and conduct exit interviews;
  • Work with closely with affinity groups to design and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives; promote DEI across the firm to ensure a welcoming work environment.

Qualifications include:

  • 6+ years of related legal experience; J.D. degree or higher required; coaching certificate and experience practicing in Big Law strongly preferred;
  • Deep passion to help associates navigate their careers and achieve success;
  • Ability to build strong rapport and trust with associates, partners and administrators;
  • Creative problem solver who is eager to take initiative and develop new programs;
  • Result-oriented professional who is a strong writer and communicator;
  • Passion for DEI work and desire to ensure an inclusive workplace.
Salary: $300K-$350K
