Career Advisor
For the New York Office of an International Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide individualized career development support and serve as a trusted advisor to associates;
- Counsel U.S. associates on integration, relationship building, goal setting, communication skills, management skills, and performance improvement;
- Create and facilitate career development training programs to support and complement coaching offerings;
- Works with leaders and PD to support associates in achieving developmental goals;
- Oversees and manages the mentor program and work with associates on developing their individual development plans;
- Works closely with the Diversity & Inclusion team to support the firm’s strategic objectives in developing and retaining a diverse talent pool and pipeline.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. & coaching certificate strongly preferred;
- 5+ years of experience in PD or coaching department of a law firm, academia, or a professional services firm required;
- Excellent judgement and discretion with respect to confidential information;
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and creative problem solving capabilities;
- Excellent writing and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to effectively tailer communications for different stakeholders;
- Extremely detail-oriented, strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
