Business Development Manager
For the Boston Office of a National Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement business development initiatives across the firm's practices: Global Litigation, Crisis Management (Bankruptcy & Restructuring, White Collar, Special Situations), Brand & Reputation Management, Technology, and Life Sciences;
- Work closely with Practice Group Leaders to support practice group-level business development initiatives;
- Meet regularly with individual partners to develop individual business plans, and proactively follow up with partners to implement their plans;
- Research existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and industry trends to recommend business development opportunities to partners;
- Prepare pitches and RFP responses, with support from other BD team members;
- Collaborate with the Marketing Communications team to improve marketing collateral, update content on the firm’s website; draft rankings and directory submissions.
Qualifications include:
- 5+ years of legal marketing experience; bachelor's degree required;
- Sophisticated understanding of legal marketing and business development and the nuances of the firm’s practices areas and industries;
- Ability to add value in partner meetings and provide proactive guidance to partners on business development opportunities;
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure;
- Strong writing skills;
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, team player, client focused, solution oriented.
