Business Development Director

For the New York, DC, LA or Chicago Office of a Very Successful Litigation Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans and work closely with partners to leverage their expertise with target clients;
  • Implement proactive BD initiatives including direct client outreach; host events, seminars, and webinars for target clients;
  • Conduct in-depth market research on trends, potential clients, and new business opportunities; identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling;
  • Oversee the marketing team; work closely with PR consultants to promote the firm’s expertise in the press and on social media;
  • Collaborate with attorneys to produce compelling proposals and presentations for potential clients; oversee the RFP process;
  • Strategically utilize Salesforce to track client interactions, opportunities, cases, attorney specialties, and areas of law; track and analyze business development metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years business development expertise in Big Law required; working knowledge of Salesforce highly desired; prior experience as a director at a large global law firm a must;
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to execute and achieve results;
  • Track record of successfully working with partners to help them build and expand their business;
  • Eager to reach out to target clients and build relationships;
  • Excellent project management and managerial skills;
  • High energy professional who inspires confidence and trust with clients and colleagues.
Salary: $350k-$400k
