Manager, Professional Development and Training

For the DC Office of a Very Successful IP Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, lead and evaluate the implementation of the firm's professional development and training strategies for timekeepers and staff;
  • Oversee onboarding and integration process for timekeepers and support staff, and follow-up regarding integration process;
  • Oversee Continuing Legal Education;
  • Ensure alignment with diversity and inclusion programs and foster a diverse and inclusive climate;
  • Facilitate Associate Liaison Committee, using liaisons to improve two-way communication between Directors and Associates;
  • Provide direction and coaching to professional development staff executing on key talent processes.

Qualifications include:

  • 8+ years of experience in Talent Management/Professional Development; experience in legal industry strongly preferred;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in development, inside and outside the industry; advanced degree or certification in relevant fields of study preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams of both direct and indirect reports;
  • Understanding of adult learning theories and able to leverage digital technology;
  • Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills, good judgment, flexibility and the ability to work with little supervision;
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and influence at all levels within the firm.
