Public Relations Manager
For the New York Office of a Prestigious Global Law FirmResponsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Chief Communications Officer, other PR team members and practice/office leaders to develop and implement strategic media relations and other communications initiatives designed to maintain and enhance the Firm brand;
- Leverage/cultivate strong relationships with key journalists across geographies in business, legal and other trade press;
- Generate and pitch story ideas about the Firm's practices/areas of expertise, accomplishments and partners;
- Write Firm press releases, develops media strategies and coordinates PR placements related to Firm announcements;
- Lead tracking and reporting of key PR metrics and utilize findings to enhance future media campaigns;
- Oversee work handled by PR senior coordinators on various Firm projects.
Qualifications include:
- 6+ years of PR/Media Relations experience at or on behalf of a law firm; 3+ years of related managerial experience;
- Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends and techniques;
- Superb oral and written communications skills;
- Significant knowledge of the business and legal press (coverage, tone, frequency, etc.) and strong business acumen;
- Ability to identify and execute proactively on media opportunities;
- Demonstrated experience leading and supervising others.
