Legal Talent Manager
For the New York Office of a Very Prestigious Law FirmResponsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary contact for attorney employment status changes, including office transfers, leaves of absence, secondments, and part-time program transitions;
- Manage communication and coordination between internal departments to ensure seamless execution of attorney status changes and related logistics;
- Partner with senior leadership to oversee processes for attorney promotions, departures, and retirements, ensuring accuracy, discretion, and timeliness;
- Support and guide attorneys and staff participating in the Foreign Associate Program, including liaising with immigration counsel and internal stakeholders;
- Supervise junior team members and oversee their contributions to status change procedures, providing coaching and quality control;
- Collaborate with legal talent peers on cross-office initiatives and participate in special projects to enhance attorney experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications include:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree and bring a minimum of 5–7 years of experience in legal talent, HR, or attorney recruiting within a professional services environment, including supervisory experience;
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with attorneys at all levels, showing professionalism, discretion, and a customer-service mindset;
- Possess strong emotional intelligence and team leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring colleagues and building collaborative relationships;
- Exhibit excellent organizational and communication skills, along with sound judgment and acute attention to detail;
- Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office and adapt quickly to internal HR or legal talent systems;
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and work flexible hours as needed.
