Director of Performance Management

For the LA, NY, D.C., Chicago, or San Francisco Office of a Well-Respected Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and manage a firmwide performance management program for attorneys and consulting professionals, ensuring alignment with strategic goals;
  • Lead continuous improvements of evaluation processes, incorporating best practices and performance trends across the industry;
  • Develop and maintain performance tools including Vi, real-time feedback systems, and core competency frameworks;
  • Partner with firm leaders to set performance goals and support associate advancement and compensation processes;
  • Coach evaluators on providing feedback and deliver training programs to strengthen performance development capabilities;
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, inform talent strategies, and ensure alignment with professional development goals.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD strongly preferred;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in performance management or a related field within a legal or professional services setting;
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing performance management frameworks, core competencies, and feedback systems;
  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across a matrixed organization;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, including Excel modeling and performance tracking tools such as Workday and Vi.
Salary: $200k-$250k
