Director of Firmwide Recruiting & Strategic Growth

For the DC Office of a Boutique Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all attorney and staff recruiting firmwide;
  • Create and implement forward-looking recruiting strategies aligned with firm growth, talent development, and DEIB objectives;
  • Build legal talent pipelines and strengthen the firm's recruiting brand with key law schools and search firms;
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and Professional Developemnt to integrate new hires, improve recruiting systems and leverage technology;
  • Analyze legal market trends, peer firm practices, and compensation data to anticipate hiring needs and keep the Firm competitive;
  • Advise on strategic growth initiatives and support hiring-related due diligence; collaborate with the Recruiting Committee on structure and planning, providing strategic insights and recommendations on policies and market positioning.

Qualifications include:

  • At least 10 years of recruiting experience in legal or professional services, including lateral and law school hiring;
  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD or advanced degree preferred;
  • Proven experience developing and executing strategic recruiting plans across multiple locations and roles;
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a demonstrated growth mindset;
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (LawCruit/Litera preferred) and recruitment data analysis;
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement in recruiting.
