Marketing & Business Development Manager

For the New York Office of an International Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with office managing partners and the national business development team to create and execute strategic business development plans for regional markets and individual attorneys;
  • Lead the development of RFPs and pitches by gathering content, crafting value propositions, and coaching attorneys on strategy, delivery, and follow-up;
  • Coordinate and execute strategic sponsorships, memberships, and conference participation in local professional organizations;
  • Plan and manage local marketing events, including content development, audience targeting, logistics, and post-event follow-up to ensure high ROI;
  • Maintain and utilize experience management databases and CRM systems to track business development activities and representative matters;
  • Conduct research on industries, companies, clients, and prospects to support marketing and business development initiatives.

Qualifications include:

  • 7+ years of experience in a similar position within a law firm environment;
  • An understanding of the legal industry—market opportunities, competition, service offerings and competitive advantages—particularly in the New York and adjoining markets;
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate complicated subject matter clearly; persuasive presentation skills; a talent for listening actively and well;
  • A hands-on, "make it happen" mindset; demonstrated resourcefulness and self-directed behavior;
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook - knowledge of Interaction, iManage, Qorus Breeze/Docs, Foundation a plus.
Salary: $147k - $166k
