Associate Director, Business Development, Litigation Practices
For the New York Office of an International Law FirmResponsibilities include:
- Build strong relationships with partners and internal teams to align on litigation business development strategies and priorities;
- Lead the development of RFPs, strategic pitches, and tailored marketing content, ensuring alignment with firm capabilities and competitive positioning;
- Oversee litigation-related client events, sponsorships, and conference support to maximize business development ROI;
- Track key litigation matters and maintain detailed experience records, identifying trends and emerging areas of interest;
- Manage the creation of marketing collateral (e.g., pitch decks, brochures, experience lists) in line with brand standards;
- Supervise research, prospect tracking, directory submissions, and mentoring of junior team members.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development or marketing within a law firm or professional services environment, with a focus on litigation;
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and project management skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines;
- Exceptional writing, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and convey complex legal information;
- Demonstrated understanding of litigation practices and the ability to translate legal work into commercial value;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with tools like Lex Machina, Bloomberg Law, Pitchly, CapitalIQ, Vuture, and InterAction preferred;
- Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. or Master’s degree in Business or Marketing strongly preferred.
