Business Development Manager - Investment Management
For the Philadelphia, NY or DC Office of a National Law FirmResponsibilities include:
- Partner with department chairs and practice group leaders to develop and implement business development plans, drive cross-selling opportunities, and grow client relationships;
- Lead the preparation of pitches, RFP responses, and fee proposals tailored to specific clients and prospects;
- Conduct market and competitive intelligence research to identify potential leads and strategic opportunities;
- Advise on integration plans for lateral partners, identifying key client development opportunities and internal stakeholders;
- Develop and execute business development training programs for attorneys to enhance their client development efforts;
- Collaborate with Marketing Communications to support events, maintain practice and attorney marketing materials, and coordinate awards and rankings submissions.
Qualifications include:
- 7+ years of business development experience in a large, multi-office law firm;
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required;
- Strong client service orientation with proven problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized with strong time and project management abilities;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM tools and research databases; experience with generative AI a plus;
- Demonstrated understanding of the legal industry and partnership model; specific experience in Investment Management is a plus.
