Lateral Partner Recruiting Specialist
For the New York, Chicago, DC or Atlanta Office of a Global Law FirmResponsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Director and Associate Director of Lateral Partner Recruiting as part of an advisory and execution team to identify, recruit, and integrate lateral partner talent aligned with strategic growth goals.
- Manage the lateral partner candidate pipeline, including coordinating outreach, circulating candidate materials, scheduling interviews, and gathering and synthesizing feedback.
- Partner with legal search firms and support direct sourcing efforts by developing target lists, conducting market and candidate research, and drafting tailored outreach scripts.
- Integrate competitive intelligence into recruiting strategies by monitoring hiring trends, competitor movement, and geographic market dynamics.
- Help ensure a high-quality candidate experience and oversee globally consistent recruitment, assessment, due diligence, and reference check processes.
- Maintain accurate recruiting data, trackers, and analytics, ensuring timely updates in recruiting systems and reporting on pipeline activity and outcomes.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 4 years of recruiting experience in a law firm or other professional services environment; search experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the legal talent market, with strong business acumen, judgment, and the ability to advise senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to think creatively and develop new approaches to sourcing, evaluating, and securing senior-level talent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the professionalism to interact effectively with candidates, firm leadership, and external partners.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with viRecruit and legal market research tools such as Leopard Solutions preferred.
