Talent Advisory Manager

For the New York Office of a Global Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary advisor on employee relations matters for attorneys and Business Services Professionals, providing practical, risk-aware guidance aligned with firm values.
  • Support the full performance management lifecycle, including goal setting, check-ins, evaluations, calibration, and development planning for attorneys and business services staff.
  • Coach managers on performance management, including feedback delivery, corrective action, performance improvement plans, and conflict resolution, promoting consistent policy application.
  • Lead and manage sensitive investigations, including workplace conduct, harassment, and discrimination matters, ensuring fair outcomes, clear findings, and thorough documentation.
  • Champion and administer the firm’s four-days-per-week in-office model by clarifying expectations, monitoring adherence, advising on exceptions and accommodations, and partnering with internal stakeholders on compliance.
  • Oversee time, attendance, leave administration, and offboarding processes while leveraging HRIS and case-management systems to deliver data-driven insights on ER trends, performance, attendance, and turnover.

Qualifications include:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in employee relations, performance management, and compliance within a professional services environment; law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in HR, business, or a related field; advanced degree and HR certifications (SHRM or PHR) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting sensitive investigations and drafting performance and separation documentation with a high degree of discretion and judgment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state employment laws; experience with complex regulatory environments preferred.
  • Proven executive presence with the ability to influence, coach, and advise senior leaders and managers in a fast-paced, client-service oriented environment.
  • Highly data-driven and detail-oriented, with proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday preferred), case management tools, and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Salary: $125k-$150k
