Marketing and Business Development Specialist

For the New York Office of a Global Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare client communications, practice overviews, pitch, and proposal content.
  • Support attorneys on the development and implementation of practice area, industry, office, and market-driven business development initiatives.
  • Work with senior BD staff to coordinate and execute on event and other marketing program logistics and preparation, and manage the flow of the firm's client & referral source ticket program and promo inventory.
  • Assist with client/prospect research requests.
  • Update and maintain experience databases and client lists. Monitor and report on trends and issues impacting clients and provide competitive analyses.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge to act as a firm resource regarding: attorney and practice group expertise, client base, firm experience, industry/trade group organizations, legal, industry, and business trends, practice-specific marketing materials and media.

Qualifications include:

  • 3+ years of prior experience in business development and marketing within a professional services environment.
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent project management skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with client relationship management software.· Experience with proposal software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated competency with PC applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Intellectually curious, motivated, and organized self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who can work independently without direct guidance on recurring assigned tasks.
  • Outstanding client service orientation and listening skills; comfortable and confident in interacting with firm leadership and attorneys.
Salary: $85k-$100k
