Director of Lateral Partner Recruiting & Integration

For the Atlanta, Chicago, DC, or New York Office of an International Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with firm leadership, Practice Group Leaders, and lateral recruiting leads to develop and execute strategic hiring plans across Corporate, Finance & Restructuring, and Real Estate & Investment Funds practices.
  • Drive proactive sourcing initiatives to build and maintain a robust, diverse pipeline of high-caliber lateral partner candidates aligned with firm growth objectives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to candidates, search firms, and internal stakeholders, managing relationships, communications, and the full lifecycle of the recruiting process.
  • Oversee preparation of interview materials, candidate presentations, internal memoranda, compensation analyses, and offer documentation in collaboration with executive leadership and finance teams.
  • Manage conflicts checks, diligence processes, candidate questionnaires, and market intelligence reporting to support informed hiring decisions.
  • Collaborate with integration leadership and Practice Group stakeholders to design and implement strategic onboarding and integration plans that support long-term partner success and engagement.

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of experience in law firm partner recruiting or as a transactional attorney, with demonstrated exposure to lateral partner hiring strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the legal industry, partnership structures, and lateral partner market dynamics across major U.S. markets.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities, including experience handling complex compensation structures, pro formas, and high-level negotiations.
  • Highly organized, strategic, and proactive professional able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Salary: $175k-$230k
