Director of Attorney Learning, Development, and Innovation

For the New York Office of a Boutique Litigation Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and lead a multi-year attorney learning and development strategy aligned with firm priorities and long-term talent goals.
  • Lead the integration of AI and emerging technologies into the firm’s attorney learning and development strategy. Design and implement training programs that help attorneys effectively utilize AI-enabled research, drafting, and workflow tools.
  • Design a comprehensive curriculum supporting the development of associates and counsel across substantive legal skills, leadership capabilities, and professional effectiveness.
  • Utilize partner feedback and performance evaluations to identify training needs and create targeted initiatives that support attorney performance and advancement.
  • Collaborate with partners and subject matter experts to create engaging programming, coaching resources, and development offerings tied to individual growth and advancement;
  • Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications include:

  • 8+ years of experience in attorney development, legal training, professional development, or litigation practice within a law firm environment;
  • J.D. required, along with demonstrated success designing and implementing attorney training and development programs;
  • Strong understanding of emerging trends in legal professional development, learning technology, and AI tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong editing ability, sound judgment, and close attention to detail;
  • Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment;
  • Professionalism, discretion, and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to handle sensitive matters and shifting priorities effectively.
Salary: $270k-$290k
