Global Director of HR

For the Boston, DC, Philadelphia or New York Office of a Global Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary global advisor on complex talent, culture, and workforce matters. Develop and execute a global talent advisory strategy supporting the Firm’s growth, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.
  • Lead the global employee relations (ER) function, ensuring consistent, fair and timely handling of workplace issues. Build and maintain ER frameworks and monitor global ER trends to proactively identify opportunities to improve workplace engagement.
  • Lead global performance management processes.
  • Design, maintain, and communicate global talent advisory policies and protocols by partnering with Legal, Compliance and regional teams. Ensure policies are current, compliant, and reflective of best practices across the U.S. and international offices.
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws, regulatory requirements, and industry standards across all operating regions. Advise leadership on regulatory changes and their impact on the business.
  • Oversee the Global Talent Advisory Team by providing guidance and coaching, managing workload, staffing, and performance feedback.

Qualifications include:

  • 10-15 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with global employee relations and compliance exposure. 10+ years in a management-level role, including supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a large international law firm or professional services environment, with specialized knowledge of multiple HR disciplines.
  • Deep knowledge of employment laws and HR practices in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the U.K.
  • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution, integrity, discretion, and judgment to achieve outcomes.
  • Executive presence with strong influencing, negotiating, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Global mindset that proactively anticipates and interprets stakeholder needs and designs effective solutions.
Salary: $275k-335K
