Manager, Business Development - Capital Markets
For the New York Office of a Prestigious Global Law FirmResponsibilities include:
- Develop a deep understanding of the Firm's Capital Markets practice, including product offerings, attorney specialties, clients, and specific business development and marketing needs.
- Develop and execute business development plans and client engagement initiatives aligned with practice priorities.
- Analyze market developments, client activity, and competitor trends to identify actionable business development opportunities and support attorney outreach efforts.
- Leverage relevant industry research, databases, and resources (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, DealPointData, Pitchbook, and EDGAR) to monitor, research, and report on market trends and insights, competitor activity, and client developments.
- Develop and manage tailored presentations, proposals, pitch materials, and other client-facing collateral, ensuring alignment with client needs, market developments, and the Firm's competitive strengths.
- Directory submissions: Manage the drafting and submission of content for numerous legal directories, awards, and related industry guides (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR1000).
Qualifications include:
- 5+ years of experience in research intelligence, business development & marketing (financial services or law firm background preferred) or relevant corporate experience in a professional services role (e.g., law, banking, consulting).
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience supporting Capital Markets, Banking, Corporate, or related transactional practices, with direct Capital Markets experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leveraging market intelligence, competitive analysis, and client research to support business development strategy and client engagement initiatives.
- Experience with legal-research / legal-news databases and resources (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, DealPointData, Pitchbook, and EDGAR).
- Ability to work confidently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the Firm.
