Senior Manager, Business Development - Capital Markets

For the New York Office of a Prestigious Global Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a strategic business development advisor to practice leadership, developing and executing client growth and market positioning strategies for a premier Capital Markets practice.
  • Advise partners on business development opportunities by leveraging client intelligence, competitive analysis, market trends, and league table performance to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Lead the strategy, development, and execution of high-impact pitches, proposals, and client presentations aligned with client objectives and the firm's competitive strengths.
  • Develop and implement annual business development plans that strengthen client relationships, expand cross-selling opportunities, and drive revenue growth.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance the visibility of the practice through thought leadership, client programs, speaking opportunities, industry engagements, and rankings submissions.
  • Manage and mentor junior business development team members while collaborating with cross-functional departments to execute strategic initiatives.

Qualifications include:

  • 8+ years of business development and marketing experience, ideally within a law firm or other professional services organization. Experience supporting Capital Markets business development initiatives is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with executive management and other senior business services professionals to create consensus-based support for strategies and processes.
  • Proven experience planning, developing, and implementing successful business growth strategies, support programs, and processes in a professional services environment.
  • Experience with legal-research / legal-news databases and resources (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Mergermarket, LSEG, Bloomberg, Pitchbook, Debtwire, Preqin).
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in high-pressure situations and a fast-paced, multi-authority environment.
  • Ability to work confidently and collaboratively.
Salary: $230k-$260k
