March symbolizes great beginnings for me. In March of 1969, I arrived in the US with my parents and younger brother. We were amongst the last Jews to leave Poland when approximately 13,000 Jews were strongly encouraged by the ruling Communist Party to give up their citizenship and exit the country. Twenty-two years ago this month, in 1996, I launched Wisnik Career Enterprises, Inc. This March, I wanted to express my gratitude to you! I am very thankful to live in this country and for all of your support throughout the years. Since WCE’s beginning, our mission has been to help our clients achieve their goals and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have placed more than 860 professionals into over 100 law firms!
I am frequently asked why I started my own business. The first reason is that I saw a need in the legal marketplace and felt compelled to fill it! The second, and the driving force in my life, is that coming here as a political refugee, I never took for granted that I could have grown up in a communist country with very limited opportunities. The privilege of living in America meant I had to take full advantage of all the opportunities available to me to serve and contribute.
Being a trusted adviser to our clients and candidates underlies everything that we do at WCE. We recognize that our clients rely on our judgment and interviewing skills to help them find the right talent for their teams. When vetting candidates for a specific position, we assess their work styles in addition to their experience. Since we know our client firms well, we only submit candidates to a given firm if we think the match is strong – this means we place candidates who are more likely to stay and contribute. In fact, many of the candidates we have placed are still with their firms 10 years later! As I reflect on my journey and our 22nd Anniversary, I thank you for trusting us with your careers and talent acquisition. We look forward to many more successful years working together.
